SCENIC Places to See
This week I wanted to celebrate your favorite places to see!
Karazhan’s Tower
This week, Callistana wrote,
” My very, absolute favorite place in all the World of Warcraft is the area surrounding Medievh's Tower in Deadwind Pass. I've only been in the actual Karazhan instance once, after it was clear (to sightsee) and I absolutely loved it, too.”She also writes,
“There's just something about "broken beauty" that I find fascinating - gives me all sorts of room to imagine what it must have been like before it came to this, and I think that's why I like these two places so much. It's easy to look around at your surroundings and imagine what could have been, or what was, by looking at what is now”You can think of this unusual use of punctuation or text like a script for a play where the action, scene, mood, and text are written out by the player, who is sort of the screen-writer of their character’s actions. The Role-players use the various text uses to offset their description of where and what their character is doing.
I have to admit, that the whole Dr. Frankenstein feel to the area has been a favorite of mine too. Inside the instance of Karazhan is a network of libraries and bridges with an antiquated architecture that is really stunning.
While you are in Deadwind pass, don’t forget to visit Ariden’s camp. You can reach it by heading off the north side of the road (heading west from Swamp of Sorrow) between two pillars. Eventually you come to a small abandoned encampment. The fire is already alight and inside the tent are two pillows. Need I say more?

NAGRAND
Velanna shared this,
“Nagrand has the best sunsets in the game. And you can't beat the flying islands for when you want a safe place to take stock and figure out what your next move is. My favorite incident occured on Valentines Day. I don't know if Blizz planned it or not, but there was fog in Nagrand that evening and the setting sun turned the whole area a lovely glowing pink. It was very romantic.”I have to say those skies are truly a colorful . Nagrand was the first place I chose when taking screen shots of my newly flightform druid.
While you are in Nagrand, check out the location just E, SE of Kil’Sorrow Fortress. There is a mountain with two HUGE trees that you can land your mount in and the view is amazing. You can see Terokarr Forest on the one side and Nagrand stretching out before you on the other. There is a small pond up there to. A great place for a guild meeting or gathering.

UNDERCITY
Although not a place easily accessible to the alliance, if you were like me you might have created a horde character so you could look at the other faction’s cities. As you might have seen in the Warcraft trailers, Arthus kills his father in the grand throne room which is now known as Undercity.
Myca says that Undercity is one of his favorite places,
“The first time I walked into Undercity and recognized the walkway from Arthas' return and then the Throne room where he kills his father...well I was in awe. It still sends shivers down my spine when I walk through and hear the cheers and bells ringing (how many of you have caught that?)”Thank you to everyone who submitted their favorite places, and more will appear in future segments of Off the Beaten path. If you would like to let me know of places that are interesting or your favorite spots, drop us at note at epicdolls@yahoo.com or at the forums at [ epicdolls.com/forum ].

RPing Tips
The use if punctuation to offset your text.
If you are trying out or playing on an RP server, you might notice other players typing sentences which they surround with pairs of parentheses or other punctuation. This is to offset or let other players know that they are saying something considered OOC or Out of Character. The rest of the time the player is generally speaking IC or In Character unless in a predescribed Non-RP channel, usually guild chat or raid chats.
Other things a RPer might type in along with their text is an action, they will set this apart by putting the action between double colons or asterisks following something they have their character say such as:
[Stardancer] says, How are you today? ::smiles and waves to everyone::You can think of this unusual use of punctuation or text like a script for a play where the action, scene, mood, and text are written out by the player, who is sort of the screen-writer of their character’s actions. The Role-players use the various text uses to offset their description of where and what their character is doing.
Thanks for listening.
Have a great time!
