Happy after [ NobelGarden ] Weekend to everyone! Hope you found lots of brightly colored eggs filled with chocolates, coin, and more scattered around your major city!
Finding Nobelgarden eggs is a lot like finding the treasure chests to me, you never know what is inside. A step up from eggs and treasure chests are the rare named creatures (also called rare mobs) you encounter here and there, who are rumored to always have something of value.
If you possibly looking for something interesting to do between quest grinds, raids, arenas, or RP, how about trying out rare named creature hunting for the above-average loot?
RARE MOB HUNTING
Virtually all the zones in Warcraft have rare or unique named creatures which wander specific areas and always drop above-average loot for the zone’s level. Perhaps you have encountered one or two while questing? Usually late in the evening or early morning (server time) I will ride around my favorite zone, and locate all the rares, like a sort of loot quest challenge. Some zones have up to 9 or 12 rares such as Burning Steppes and Ashenvale. There is a difference between rare named creatures and elite rare named creatures – rare named or unique creatures have a silver dragon around their name icon, while an elite rare named creature has a silver dragon with a wing. In Outlands the creatures such as Numoroc the named chimerock flying in Netherstorm, is an elite. He requires a party, but always drops something good. In the Old World, Azeroth, you can safely rare creature hunt if you are above the zone’s level range.
You may be asking, “How do I know what or where the rares are located?” I copied down and printed a list from Alakazham [ Rare Mobs ] . Many sites will help you with a complete listing of the names of the rare creatures.
It is really helpful to create a macro for each zone with all their names, create a button, and put it on your task-bar. While riding or adventuring around in a zone, you can press the macro button and easily locate any of the rare named creatures who happen to be up and around in that area.

ECO-DOMES NETHERSTORM
Some of the more interesting spots in Outlands, Burning Crusade are the Eco-Domes located in purple hewed zone of Netherstorm. There are three amythyst spheres act like greenhouses or bio-domes. A new race introduced in Burning Crusade called the Ethereals created these domes to protect the plants and wildlife that would have otherwise been eradicated by the demon invasion and mana forges. The domes are created by a field of magic that is produced by technological means. Although the ethereal beings have no real bodies of their own as we know it, are care-takers of the the three remnants of life in Netherstorm and have vowed to protect it.
The Ethereals are astral travelers who evacuated from the world of K’aresh and now wander the Twisting Nether. They are people driven by trade in artifacts and other material means and pursuits including thieving and smuggling. The Ethereum faction of the Ethereals seeks vengeance on a void lord Dimensius who armies of voids destroyed their world.
You can help them exact their revenge on voids by taking on the quest. Talk to the Ethereal Professor Dabiri at the Protectorate Watch post to start the quest.

Role Playing Tips
Character Idiosyncrasies
Until upcoming expansions and patches which will allow you to change your character’s hair (Yay for that), there are still limited numbers of character look combinations outside of clothing. You work hard on your character to level and know their class, race, and story. The idea is to set your character apart and help develop a unique personality that is of interest to you and to other RPers.
- Perhaps your Forsaken warlock has a small white kitten pet which might look humorous to some, but his story may include his deep desire to have remember what life was like no matter how small.
- Maybe your character is a burly old dwarf hunter with an eye patch accompanied by an old beat up gortusk for a pet.
- Perhaps your character has an accent or a lisp, and often says prayers before battle or meals, and always wears their ancestral sword.
- Maybe your character lost an arm in a gnomish engineering accident and built a new one. You never know what will happen with gnomish engineering down the way.
Also, not every character story needs to be of heart-wrenching tragedy and loss. Perhaps your character is light-hearted and hopeful and enjoys a good joke and a pint of mead.
